I only specifically mention bio orb cause its infinite clicks. Root nets, slow hammer, etc. all make weapon based aggro meaningless beyond white damage to keep aggro up. The initial aggro from clicks will last you basically on any mob until your disc runs out, when you swap tanks (on raid mobs) anyways.

Both epics are best in slot. Red sword best aggro/hp. Blue sword best dps.

How important is the epic?

Great item and stats. After the proc nerf it is much more competitive.

Having said that, globally it is not that important. There are plenty of alternatives that are perfectly capable at the highest levels of raiding.

The epic is mandatory for eejag fight, otherwise the others can't find the mob without the traffic lights...

Definitely true, but the marshaling wand part was both a funny comment and a serious comment warrior might not be aware off... Can't beat the marshaling wands in the lava...

Meh. I had my epics on live. Here? I’ve been casually working on them. They’re great and I’d use them if I had them but anyone who thinks they’re necessary is kidding themselves. The good tradable weapons and easy to get nodrops will function interchangeably with epic for the purposes of threat after the nerf. Prior to the nerf they were flat out better.

The real value of the epic isn’t in rock solid superior aggro (at least not by any significant margin), it’s in the rock solid superior stats/resists. A ton of stamina, hp, resists? Why yes thank you!

As mentioned the last time this came up:

The 2handed Epic will be extremely good for tanking once two-handed weapons get their own damage bonus tables. Less riposte spikes and very strong threat generation.
