i own books, but i never much enjoyed the unilateral one dimension medium that is printed text. also never helped that my my addled mind is the comfortable refuge of an impoverished attention span. all of the books i own were purchased to learn what makes stories popular. i read them and realized that the most important quality of a successful character was generally that s/he frustrate me immensely or at least be closely aligned with one or more characters who do and exercise the worst judgement at the most critical times.
