JD, why is the gender of the chimps and bonobos important (stress on what gender dominates or does so-and-so) but unimportant / a construct, in humans?

And then again, I would tend to agree with you, but then why is it important to be called a woman when "being a woman" is just a social construct. Why can't you be a biological male and fulfil any social role you wish without contradicting biological evidences of what gender you were born in?

How can gender be so important based on how pointless it is? I'm always confused at this argument.

(PS; don't overread between the lines, if it's all black or white I am more of a libtard like you than a white cisgender male conservative redneck - I'm legit asking)

(Edit: also, nice dick @OP lol. As a european/japanese I was shocked to see it removed [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] )

Well some like to dress like girls and put on make up. I mean if that is OK with you, Hitler.

That poster is full of very fucked up thinking. We need to provide free educational seminars for these people at some point in the future. For those that get out of all the free college were going to give them.

By gender I mean male & female, the two things that can reproduce. If we take other mammals, there are males (usually born with a dick) and females (usually can get pregnant, produce milk). Outside of infertility, this is usually how it works in the mammal kingdom.

And then you have the societal role we attribute to the gender. And this is where I agree that we are smart enough to have a little fun here. We've come to a point where that base gender could mean close to absolutely nothing. I am myself a man wearing make up, often with fluo pink hair and a fashion sense that can be described as feminine; but I never felt that my "maleness" meant anything and/or forced me to do or stop anything...

This is the point where I can't support that movement. I agree with all the symptoms and conclusions, but I don't understand how "changing gender" or pronoun, making up crazy spectrum etc. can be part of the solution process at all.

As you say yourself, we're an intelligent species. We should not require that crutch. We can assume our dickness or non-dickness without it bearing ANY further meaning. It's barely a mean of reproduction (that sometimes doesn't even work).

[You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Oh the irony of someone who, only a few decades ago, would have been looked down on by everyone in society (and even today is still being looked down on by many) for being different and something they can't comprehend ...

... who is looking down on transgender people for being different and something they can't comprehend.

I an looked downed, and I don't care.
I am not looking down on transgender people, I just don't understand why I need to close my eyes on the biological gender they were born in as that doesn't change anything in my perception of them.

It's like if I would ask you to please call me fat. Yeah I know I'm only 126lbs but please ignore that and call me fat, I want to be fat and feel like I'm a fat person. In my heart I'm a fat person I just can't get weight but if everyone could just help me a bit a and play along calling me fat that would be great.

Why?

(Edit: I used to and/or have transgender coworkers and acquaintances and I do use their "preferred pronouns" and respect them fully the way they are. Not agreeing with something does not mean I can't make an effort to make them feel better in the meantime. Don't assume otherwise)

Perhaps because people are born with biological differences that cause them to feel like they were born into the wrong gender ... and no one has ever been born feeling like a fat person when they're not?

But what does it change to whom?
You can wear any clothes you like, any make up, do any job, be anyone you dream of, without changing your birth certificate.
What is non-binary is the role people play in society, it doesnt have to be the number of genitals and words associated with them both.

What can you finally do that you could not do before, the day you become a SHE from a HE, or vice-versa?

I feel it is actually worsening the problem to confirm to these people that, yes, they are indeed weirdos and they need to change sex and go through a whole revolution to just be at ease with who they are. Instead of just telling them that they're super fine, they can do anything and fulfil any role they want in society, under any name they like. 'They' being everyone. I'm part of that they and I will never let anyone tell me I need a whole reboot of society and demos in the streets and martyrs and revolutions to just be myself and happy, no thanks. I'm being called "she" or a woman very regularly and I never correct anyone, but I know I'm a male mammal with a dick that can't be pregnant and I don't understand why I would ever need to change that... what it would allow me to suddenly do that I can't do today.

Nobody ever gave me an answer on that [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
