i can't wait to watch the new star wars.

the last two movies were a great revitalization to the series. they became fun again.

these are movies for children.

Anyone concerned about losing their place of power as a white male is probably a piece of shit who commands no respect in a meritocracy. Spoiler: if you aren't born into the oligarchy you must swim in the meritocratic middle class. Either you win or u lose and making children's fantasy movies appeal to a larger audience is of no concern
the visual language of the movie is turned to swiss cheese by a really hamfisted application of political agenda.

You don't have to be a mediocre white male to experience visceral revulsion when you see an expensive property with a Black Lives Matter lawn sign in front.

yes. as poorly edited and poorly delivered the dialogue was, the prequels still beat ass on the new movies.

The new flicks are missing that Star Wars vibe.

that said the D.C. Marvel Star Wars are still entertaining

new ones are feelies. the editing and scene pacing is done by a computer. of course there's no vibe, it's machine language. jj abrams movies have been this since at least star trek remake #1.

can i get more flashing lights, loud sounds and scene changes at intervals scientifically calibrated to distract me from how crushingly depressing and un-charming this propaganda is please.

Very funny Nilbog. In my defense the IMAX version was touted as a cinematic redo of the movie. It was still bad.

Look I also went in to the new SJWars expecting the worst but it’s no where near the flaming trash heap mountain that is the prequels.

*Not even in the same uniVerse of bad or approaching bad

The new movies are good. Surprisingly good!

My only real complaint against this year's Star Wars is that I'll be forced to watch it Christmas day, instead of Phantom Thread.

(Phantom Thread is the newest Paul Thomas Anderson movie and will be Daniel Day Lewis' final role; making it automatically important for cinema)

Have you considered that the new SJW cast and crew has opened up Star Wars to be enjoyable for a much larger audience, rather than basically nerdy white dudes & a small sector of nerdy non white dudes as it was in the past? All I see here is rage that writers are pandering to a more diverse audience instead of pandering to you. The good news is that the cinematography and story are highly polished; light saber fights and force powers will always be fun. And now little kids who love star wars will be the majority and be less cucked as they develop socially.

right, its mainstream audiences invading a franchise built and beloved by nerds. i can see framing this as an erosion of "nerd identity", but would add that framing it in racial or gender terms("sjw")poisons the discussion.

does all media need to be for all audiences?

i think the general upset is more an issue of cultural appropriation.
