Stun whips +SBDs are the way to go in classic for sure, but that dagger with the 400dd is looking very interesting [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] Thanks for compiling that list Odeseus seems quite handy.

Also if your pet is already dual wielding it's not always necessary to give the pet 2 whips... SBD is a good offhand option if you an get the camp as it drops regularly enough.
If you want something that's as easy to get as the whip just use Dagger of Dropping in the offhand. It procs weaken which doesn't do too much in the way of getting the mob to drop quicker but if it's agro that you are looking for it certainly doesn't hurt. Besides the fact that the dagger is more or less worthless to players as well as vendors and drops in the same zone.

Sorry I can't help you with Kunark drops but I honestly can't think of anything even nearly as easy to get and as effective:
But feel free to browse through the item lists for these zones and maybe you will find what you are looking for: http://everquest.allakhazam.com/db/z...ml?mode=bycont Kunark: * Burning Woods * Chardok * City of Mist * Crypt of Dalnir * Dreadlands * East Cabilis * Emerald Jungle * Field of Bone * Firiona Vie * Frontier Mountains * Howling Stones (Charasis) * Kaesora * Karnor's Castle * Kurn's Tower * Lake of Ill Omen * Mines of Nurga * Old Sebilis * Skyfire Mountains * Swamp of No Hope * Temple of Droga * The Halls of Betrayal (Chardok B) * The Overthere * Timorous Deep * Trakanon's Teeth * Veeshan's Peak * Warsliks Wood * West Cabilis (EDIT: don't have time to add all the links right now...)

Dagger of Dropping is a kind of last resort kind of thing. The effect doesn't seem to do too much in the way of making a fight easier. Might be worth it for long fights where the drop in STR/AC would matter more, but I'm not anticipating massively long fights.
I might head over to lower guk for the dirk sometime this week if I get enough time to log on. Getting a bit sick of the paw (Although I do have 30 whips saved now). Haven't ever spent much time in guk so would be worthwhile to check it out. As for kunark weaps, it seems that no one has done the research (or can remember any good ones offhand). If work today is as slow as it looks like it might be, I might spend some time digging through the drops in alla to see if I can find anything. Will post here if I find anything useful.

Going to be editing this post as I find more things. And will also clean it up once I'm finished. Bear with me as this is an ongoing process.
Starting with Kunark weapons: The first one is lore so it doesn't fit the bill exactly, but I remember the Steel Hilted Flint Daggerbeing absolutely INSANE damage. Sometimes would double a pet's DPS with this one weapon alone. Next is the Scorpikis Claw Impaler. Not that great, but procs a DoT for a little extra damage. Dagger of Frost isn't bad, and it appears to drop off multiple creatures. Canyoneer Pikeis nodrop but not lore, so you can have many of them. Not the greatest pet weap ever, but it procs a 25% slow, which could come in quite handy in certain situations. Blood Point is a very very good pet weap it seems like. Not lore and has an 80 point life tap, DD+heals = win! Wintry Club is another decent weap. It isn't lore and procs a 30ish DD. Nothing to freak out over but solid nonetheless. Master Wu's Trance Stick appears to drop off trash in CoM, has a nice DD component to it and isn't lore. Might be something to look into depending on the rarity. Deadwood Stave is another nice lifetap weapon. And it isn't lore, but there appears to be limited information on it. Still a nice option. And just for use now, before kunark drops, here are some Classic pet weapons: Obsidian Shard isn't lore. Did not know that. It isn't spectacular but 30DD proc isn't horrible. For those of you wondering what the lifetap whip is. It is nice as it is DD+heal, but the damage is completely underwhelming (for the most part). And for all 2 of you who are wondering whatthe stun whip is. It stuns most critters, good for agro, interrupting spells and slightly lowering mob DPS (can't attack while stunned). And the root sword from Lower Guk. Not only does it root the mob, but it has a very nice DD component. And finally, the Serrated Bone Dirk Snare is incredibly useful in situations where you don't want mobs to run (such as seb when Kunark hits).

AE weaps are fine if you have tons of room and feel very comfortable in not getting adds. It would be good if you are farming tons of low level mobs where adds wouldn't matter. But in situations where I would really need or want a pet weap are generally situations where I'm not 100% comfortable with my surroundings. So I would have little use for AE weaps generally.
Oh and the SHFD was pure ownage for a pet weap on live when I could get my hands on it. The good thing about it is that it is ranger only, and most rangers simply didn't want it because of the poor ratio, didn't want to deal with the INSANE agro it generated and didn't want to rely upon a proc for doing most of the damage. So I could often find this thing for cheap on live, dunno how it will play out here. The only problem I can think of is that it does not proc till level 50, and according to the P99 wiki, kunark mage pets top out at level 49. So it may not proc ever proc for pets on this server. Although I distinctly remember using this on my shaman on live, and I doubt that it was level 50 until PoP. And I believe that I was using the SHFD well before then. Eh, my memory sucks though.
