After reading this, I have thought of some other ways DaP could be harming the server's raid scene.

Obviously when the socks need to be ported en masse, they always call on DaP.

Thanks to DaP always being on stand by, this makes mobilizing a raid force even easier granting rich socks even more opportunity to keep the spawning raid mobs on lock down.

Poorer socks that can't afford DaP's immense tip charges are forced to sit and watch the rich socks port nearly instantly to any raid location DaP has to offer.

Totally unfair!

all these arbitrary "reasonable" donations are super silly ^^ if you feel bad for offering less than you "think" is "right" you dumb and if you get rustled that someone offer less than what you "think" is "right" you dumb too. there a super simple solution if someone unhappy with an offer and nobody need be upset. it called saying, "no." don't have to be a turd about neither. just ask if it enough and if not, thank them for they time. conversely if you a porter, just decline and thank them for considering you. it not all that hard and don't have to be all "omgosh that person such "D!"" kinda thing. jus communicate and be friendly with one another ^^

Yes. I have often times sent tell to a porter and I tell them up front what I am paying for a port from A to B.

Just as I tell them up front when I need a port for free, I tell them up front my lvl 1 lowbie butt is stuck in Steamfont and I would like to make my way to the FP area, please port me I have nothing to tip.

I have been blatantly ignored after such tells too, but usually they respond and even port me happily.

Asmodean, props to him he has helped me move a lowbie twice already. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

You can still bind at firepots but you have to compensate DaP for the lost business and pay them a large weekly fee. Also they don't let just anyone do it; you need references, proof of credit and someone to give you a personal introduction to Tupakk. You would know this if you were more in the know, but you're not so I can't really say any more about it.

The problem is that DaP leadership has zero control over it's members. There is nothing to keep their members in line or held to a standard of excellence. It's just a pub nub guild of porters who are trying to make plat off other people's laziness.

So even if they did strike,. some of their members would still port people. It's not like they have a code of honor or ethics.

There's some truth to this, but you underestimate the people in the guild. There is some structure, and some higher ranked members are frequently in guild chat offering advice or instruction.

If the guild leadership told people no porting, 99% of them would abide by this. You might have one retard that decides not to listen.

People outside the guild like to say the guild is full of losers who can't do anything else but port (and barely manage that.) This is not true.

When I was in DaP one guy was a raid geared druid, who dropped tons of info on people working their epics, or who just needed info regarding other facets of the game. He wasn't the only one either.

The guild has a really strange mixture of different types of players.

Some are passing through and only want to use the DaP tag to make plats, while others end up there after raiding and simply join for the guild chat atmosphere and fun of porting people around for the hell of it.

Some people join because the guild really does have a lot of seasoned players that can supply a lot of knowledge and not just stuff about porting.

Also the chat is usually light hearted and fun, and it never revolves around raiding mobs and "competing" for raid mobs. I think a lot of people who dislike raiding or are tired of raiding join DaP with their porters.

Lmao wow. Lhancelot you sure do devote a lot of time writing up novels about how you enjoy DAP's collective dicks in your mouth, tbh.

I been in the guild and they have some very good people in it. I like to add some objectivity to the topic. tbh.

Before DaP:
/who all druid 29 49
/tell randomdruid00: Porting? -> "Sorry not right now"
/tell randomdruid01: Porting? -> "Sorry not right now"
/tell randomdruid02: Porting? -> "Sorry not right now"
/tell randomdruid03: Porting? -> "Sorry not right now"
etc

After DaP:
/who all dial
/tell DaP'er00: Porting? -> "Sure, one minute" or "I can't, but I just asked guildchat for someone to come get you"

Seems like an easy choice.

---

Also, I get a kick out of people saying we have some sort of guild dialogue about who to port first or some kind of guild-wide retribution thing going on. Guildchat is made up of at most four things: 1) Druid leveling banter 2) Requesting a pick-up/port for someone you can't get 3) Bragging/complaining about port payments 4) government/alien/wolfman-hybrid conspiracy theories.
