Clickies cannot be used when soloing? What?

Lol... what?
Clickies that greatly trivialize the content trivialize the achievement? But weapons and armor don't? I don't follow the logic.

I think that's what he means by "clickies that trivialize the content." Verses gear that does. Sure, your monk might have crazy haste and weapons with ratios that just didn't exist in old world, but they are still items for the monk. Whereas clicky CH is not on any item that is monk usable, but it is on items that don't require equipping, therefore monks now can CH themselves. An unforeseen ability that they should not have ever gotten in any way. At least I think that's what he means. Edit: As far as I'm concerned, solo means that you can do it without outside help of any kind, from any class (i.e. self buffs only). And that you can do it using only the abilities granted to your class. (No puppet strings/CH clickies/etc.). But that's just my defenition

Meh, CH from inventory type stuff if you're burning 6 charges sure.
But having a Gharns / Fist of Nature/Lighting vs. someone in more era appropriate Epic/SoS is an enormous difference, to the point of not even needing a single CH charge to accomplish a solo kill. I'm sure a red player with best-in-slot gear (minus the obvious AoW/Tunare stuff they can't get) from raiding could kill something like Ragefire only using a full wort pot or two compared to a blue monk with just Epic/SoS and kunark style gear who couldn't pull it off even with a full soulfire and 5 wort pots. In this era there are a few extremely OP abilities like Slow/Charm totally trivialize the content. Using Mallets and Puppet Strings just allows more classes to attempt these solo kills that wouldn't be able to otherwise. Likewise with Torpor vs. Wort Pots/SoulFires allows some classes to extend their lifespan slightly. Otherwise the list is just a bunch of Torpor Shamans who get lucky and stick slow early or Enchanters who had good luck on charms not breaking. Not that any of this is an enormous achievement anyways, done Ragefire with Druid/Warrior using no clickies too, but that's not as entertaining as using Druid/Druid using clickies. Which is sort of the point of these, to entertain yourself by doing things with less than intended or odd methods of doing kills.

All of these solo kills are done by well geared players burning OP clickies. The orignal poster's recollection of a monk soloing Nagafen was done by a 52 Monk with Tunare/PoP weaponry using bags of Prayers of Life for example.
Again, its not about being impressive. Its about finding something to entertain you when you're playing on a server that's locked in the same expansion for many years. That's what spawned the original solo artist's challenge thread. 5 years of Kunark.

Daldaen has the right idea IMO.
Velious gear trivializes a huge amount of content and completely unbalances melee vs casters. For example Quean and I were duoing Serczema's temple in SG Monk/Monk and clearing over half of the sirens there (no servants, obviously) per cycle with zero downtime. And yeah, right now we don't think using Puppet Strings and Wort Pots is that impressive, but back in 2011 when the Solo Artist Challenge launched people had no clue what was possible. For example: Quote:
And many of these were eventually done without clickies, like Maurice doing Emperor Chottal on his enchanter with (IIRC) 1 reaper charge.

That first youtube video with that U.I...man that makes me think the U.I itself provides a major advantage..really kills that classic feel when people use U.I.'s that give them an edge to have an overview of all their items / bags located in 1 window...Open UI and bam all your bags open, all your items easily displayed. Disappointing.
