I've never played WoW. Is it worth trying?
• I love the vastness and wonder of Norrath...is there a lot to explore on Azeroth?
• Do the various classes have a high skill ceiling or is it just a mindless grind-fest?
• Are classes customizable or is it more like a wizard is a wizard, a warrior is a warrior, a paladin is garbage, etc?

Game is all about macros and keybinds honestly.

"Some specs for certain classes suck in vanilla" Nah, you're just bad at a game intended for casuals. You're only good at clicking one skill 4 times a minute, hence your obsession with 'competition' on red.

"I will be griefing low lvl alliance areas" This is suggestive of some very serious self esteem issues. Not only do you feel that you yourself are so beneath your 'peers' that you're afraid to challenge anyone your level, it also leads one to believe that you were the dark kid in school who got chubs from squishing bugs and smelled like ear wax.

I only played wow thrice and both+ times felt like I was chasing squirrels. Load up on quests, go bash things that die super quick to collect quest items, repeat. Was difficult to make a group activity out of it.

Also, why everyone always evil? Anyone play elves or humans?

Vanilla WoW is good. Never gets the hugemongo feel of norrath due to griffin routes, no dynamic faction system, etc, but it does feel like a big world. Ppl call EQ a theme park MMO but wow is way more themeparky. Fun tho.
