I personally blame all the twinks for griefing new players off the server. PvP is fun when its competitive and has a valued reward for slaying another person.

I'm not trying to whine here, I take my lumps in PvP and accept it for the rule set I respect. However, if you actually want more people to kill and play with then stop the bullshit naked camping / lvl20 fungi crap.

Honestly the way people play these 20-30 twinks you may as well start even earlier, log a 13 rogue with WESS and a high dmg piercer, fungi, etc. Go after people that OOC "LFM 6+" to cream them before they even go back to their trainers.

The problem is that people are afraid to die. I don't understand why, I never have. There is no penalty for dying, but people get very upset when it happens.

So they get to 60, they park their main in ToV only logging in to loot or suicide to mobs. They spend the rest of their time farming AC on a level 40 necromancer making about 20k a week on jboots alone + whatever luck you get out of the 2 seafuries you can kill between each spawn at that level.

At some point, they realize that they have 600k in raw plat and nothing really to spend it on because their main is in ToV looting amazing items every week. So they spend it on a manastone, 4 fungis and 4 sets of resist gear and level up to 30 in a few hours. They get to MM and realize there is no one to play with because the other 50 people on the server are solo farming PS or sarnak fort/semi-afk at stormfeather.
So they leave that character there and make a new alt but every now and then they check to see who is on in MM. It's usually one person trying to solo in the GY or something, so they go over and knock em over for fun because they've never PVPd on this character before (no one to do it to)
The person they attacked then logs on the forum and cries and we all say stop crying, and run back. The ONLY penalty for dying is that you have to run back.

But they don't want to run back. They want to cry. So they cry, and the twink farms another fungi, and the twink makes another alt, and the twink plays EQ another day.

I appreciate the reply. It shed some light onto how people end up with tons of extra plat and get bored, really.

I hope the last line wasn't a backhand to me because that's not how I see it really. I'm going to refrain from my standard "we need item loot to deal with twinks" argument and just say that if you actually want a challenging PvP on your new char, duel another twink because you're probably guild cohorts.

You can clearly see when someone is a main level 30 and that they are probably holding their life savings of 32pp on their character. On a small server like this, if you even remotely care about having fun on your twink in the next year, you should value the aspect of growing these new players.

Not everyone has the tenacity of a retro Zek player. (I'm being kind to you blues that didn't play rallos by saying Zek btw) Why play this server at all after dying to a number of nasty people that act like teenagers? It's not 1999, there isn't 2000 players and more coming.

Try being nice to new players with your money. Buy people that commit to leveling as mains cool gear. Watch them win vs attackers, and prosper having confidence on a private server. I encourage people to be a douchebag on 50+ chars all they want, but let new mains season a bit.

Stop doing drugs and "owning" exp zones. Rant over.

Didn't read none of this, but I have 4 sub 30 chars with fungus just in case of a new influx of players.

It's almost that the ideology of this server is that when you quit you get so angry you wish the server burnt down.

P.s. there's WoW servers with 5000 people online right now, if you feel safety in numbers you know where to head.

Don't play WOW but a quick google search revealed about 200-300k per server.

You know the sickness is strong when you rather have sub 100 pvp targets than 300,000. Once again, WOW sucks but I'm also not on Red~~
