You wouldn't need time to gather a force if you rolled 5min before the spawn to roll.

People are way more likely to help a stranger if it is a 5-10 minute affair rather than a wait 30 minutes then a 5-10 minute affair.
If this is the case, then I guess it doesn't really matter how close people roll. You think players will help though?

They commonly did when I was showing up to help, I usually did as well unless I had a raid I needed to head to.

I think it's a common mentality of most players on the server. If I'm not doing much, and you need me to stick around for 5-10minutes to complete a big quest, I'm usually inclined to do so. You really only need 1-2 people to stick around.

But if you want me to wait 30-40 minutes and then another 5-10minutes as the script unfolds, I'm far less likely to want to sink an hour of my free time into helping someone finish up their quest, especially on nights or days when an hour is about all the time I get to be online.

Just my 2 cents.

I just assumed people didn't wait around or only waited around to see if the roll winner messed up and couldn't get a force (i.e. Ragefire). That's good to know that the players actually help each other out.

Again, used to being the operative word. Almost no one waits around 40 minutes to help a random they don't know every single night. Which is why rolling so early I don't think is a good thing. But I guess if you're expecting no one to wait 5-10minutes if it's moved up I understand the stance wanting time to gather your friends I suppose.

I have not been able to attend the ring roll this week due to time zone and earthquake messing it up for me. None the less i think its a coin flip, from my experience rolling at xx30 the losers would mostly log with 1 or 2 of us sticking around to help winner and give him enough time to bring some friends along to help. You cannot expect people to show up with a force ready to go when your gambling against 10+. With that being said if roll losers are willing to help the winner with a 5-10min npc spawn i would agree to this. Its an easy kill and everyone i have helped hands out the loot the 3 named drop which honestly isn't bad, whether you give to a newb or sell for a k, there is still potential for reward amongst the losers. But lets be honest, on this server its very rare to find help when everyone is salty they are not going to get the pixel. Just my 2c. Whatever happens ill be back to the shit show roll next week hopefully.

man, i enjoyed stealing someone elses ring 8 via pvp. and almost never having to wait or deal with lines to get any of it done. can't believe this far in blue still has lines on ring 8, probably scout too? ugh, what are people doing getting 5th alts ringed up or something.

Not sure if you are trolling. There are 2.4 scouts per day, Velious has been out 257 days, thats 616 scouts - that is roughly the population of the server at 4-6am EST and probably the number of active raiders in the top 3-4 guilds combined - let alone all the rest. At this rate, all level 50+ mains will get Scout in a cpl of years, and that is even without all the people getting it for their alts.

Ring 8 is once a day, so yeah, 250 or so max, same as above applies, except that the issue is 2.4 times bigger [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I just figure sure blue has a huger pop then red, but you cant deny how many are EC mules, sub 50s, people who casually play mixed in. if blue has an active 1k players always, chances are there are around 3-4k actual players just not all on at the same time. Red is mostly on the 60 or 55+ level for majority of server due to easy exp. Just considering server resets, down times, all that have been plenty of repops etc. But putting it like that assuming 1 ring per day 257 days. That isn't many, can see why there would still be a line I suppose but I bet a lot are still alts or second/third chars of power players willing to poopsock the time.
