Parking your toon at entrance of ToV and logging in for a couple minutes at a time on a batphone to collect dat DKP is really what happens at level 60 on this server. Over the years the play level of the level 60 toons on this server has declined precipitously. There are a lot of people that get to 60 that really shouldn't, and because that can't -actually- play EQ they're perfectly happy warmbodying.

You know what's fun? The log-n-screw mentality of dragon killing on this server. Log in on a batphone, pick the right parked toon, drop the mob, collect DKP, have loot council award loot to the inner circle, log the fuck off. Tons of fun guys.

So now these people somehow are also supposed to think that theres lots of fun to be had helping nubs at lvl 60. Coming from someone that -actually- helps nubs for years now, this is absolutely fucking laughable.

Population spike from 1000 to 1400 when dragons are in window because of people waiting at login screen? What's that percentage? How about all the people that -don't- wait at login screen then login for the what-has-become-classic log-and-screw?

How about the....what, four guilds now that "compete" for ToV dragons that can field 80-100 each on a batphone?

How about all the "casual" guilds who over the years have adopted the same toon camping strategy except for every other target besides the ToV dargons?

How about how dead RnF has become due to overt censorship from the guilds?

How about all this coming from someone who remembers very well the time when this was -not- status quo?

Ok should I say 15% to 20%? Would you be happier then? When the servers are at the peak roughly 1400 players there are at max 300 people in ToV and that is seriously being generous. Its more like 200 if that. And 3 guilds... hmm what else did you get wrong?

shrug, I've seen stats posted at prime time that show 250 level 60s on with the rest of the server being under-60. and is it really 300 people in ToV at prime time? I've seen close to that many in kael waiting for a vindi spawn or whatever, I guess. but even then 300/1400 isn't too bad for me.

maybe it's a lot of 60s. but I think it's silly to be angry at what a minority of the server does. it's a significant minority, sure. but let people batphone if they want. there's lots of game out there for those who don't, even at 60. some people choose to spend it that way, others go the antonin route. neither is wrong. in the end it's a game.

You might wanna check the recent RnF thread that features some old RnF all-stars. Their version of history is quite accurate.

Censorship dude. I'm gonna say whatever the fuck I want to whomever the fuck I want. I've been here enough, I've dealt with everybody in one way or another, and I've "paid my dues."

The community used to be full of people that really had the classic EQ spirit. When I bump into old old time players who come back they can hardly recognize what the server has become. With WoW falling out of popularity over the years (consider in 09 WoW was very much in full swing) the server has become flooded with WoW hold-my-hand nubs.

If you want to be censored and be told when and how to play a fucking video game in order to have the chance at scraps after ~months~ of "contributing" be my fucking guest.

I'll keep doing my thing and working on quests on my own time and getting through the game with relationships with players that I cultivate myself, not by being a number in a zerg and all the profits disproportionately flowing to the top.

And yes, at the end it -is- a game, which is why the draconian imposition of RnF bans and the constant threat of having the pixel faucet turned off by a group of guild leaders that really don't give a shit about anybody makes very little sense to me.
