Fuck off. Clerics have way more right to complain on this kind of thing.

Run from EC to Lower Guk for 30pp? lol

Given clerics literally sit on their asses while being leveled by their group mates, I say they have zero room to complain about anything.

No porter should be expected to spend 30 minutes + med time for 5pp.

I'm assuming you asked him how much he was paying for this VIP service before you started running to him?

I feel ya Stomper, if they don't want to pay then they run. That is my rule of thumb for FoB. Because when it is all said and done you are spending 30 mins no matter which way you go. OT WW FoB or DL KC EJ FoB. Also at lvl 25 he is more then capable to make it through WW and OT to get to SF Ramp so yeah.

When it comes to Iksar ALWAYS negotiate fee in advance and then dump them in Tox regardless.

Classic indeed! I announce where the Druid rings are and how much I charge. When the Iksar character replies and starts "explaining" all the details of why and where I "have to" run to for the pick-up... As I always try to be helpful... I mention that it's never too late to reroll.

I also do some porting, although there is only one of me, and I clearly can't compete with Dial a Port. I use Dial a Port quite often myself when traveling on my cleric or my necromancer. Although there are often members of my guild available, I hesitate to ask them to come and get me when I can afford the modest tip for the service of the Dial a Port member.

When I am porting, I never set a fee for my services. I routinely port those under level 20 for free. I always port people for a CR for free, and include SoW and Levitate, and invis if need be. Most Dial a Port members that I know port for a CR for free, and will provide SoW (If a druid) and Levitate and invis for no additional charge.

A player has a right to refuse services if the person doesn't want to pay for them, and has a right, IMHO, not to accept "donations" but to charge for their services. It isn't my way, but I will defend the right of the OP to play any way he likes. (If people don't want it, they won't purchase the services).

When I created DaP, the idea was to be helpful to the server and help people get around. It all balances out with the nice tips and shitty tips. Yes, it sucks to get 5pp for running all that way but next time they'll remember (hopefully) that when they're a higher level and probably tip more when they can afford it. I know that whenever I was a lowbie and someone was helpful towards me, I always paid it forward as much as I could later on.

I am not really active anymore and most people in DaP probably don't know me as the creator of the guild as Supremacydru did most of the recruiting but this wasn't meant to be a greedy service. It's supposed to be a service that will give you some coin on the side while helping the server get around.
It's pretty bullshit to ask how much someone is paying up front for a port. It's of course is up to the porter themselves what they do because it's their toon but was really no need to put up a RnF thread about it. Can't imagine Supremacydru would approve.
