OP has a point. Forcing people to take vaccinations is acceptable in extreme cases such as highly lethal, contagious diseases (Ebola, if the vaccine really works).

Anything else is a highly invasive violation of body integrity.

And yes, it is "free" for a reason: The pharma industry has lobbied successfully to make the state funds pay for the shots (probably at way too high rates) for all the population, making it a super profit for pharma, and you're paying for it with your tax money.

I've never taken a flu shot, never will. Been over 20yrs since I last had the flu, an never had it really bad. Like that article I link said, it just makes it worse. Just eat right and get enough sleep, more than a flu shot could ever do for you, even a real one.

1) Never touch your head or face while out for the day. Wear a reminder string around your finger if you have to. This will become second nature.

2) Don't let anyone cough in your vicinity. If someone does this, get up and walk away. Make up an excuse. Helps if you pretend to be an ADHD spaceshot who abruptly ignores people and really has to use the bathroom a lot.

3) Don't let anyone sneeze in your vicinity. If you hear someone loading up a sneeze, run. Claim you left the stove on, or you forgot to lock your car. You should be moving so fast away from the violator that your excuse has to be shouted over your shoulder. You can hear a sneeze being chambered before it actually fires. Hone this talent.

4) Avoid using bathrooms that coughers and sneezers are using at work. This traps the virus due to humidity and lack of air flow. Piss in a bottle under your cubicle if you have to. Better yet, hit the alley dumpster during a fake coffee run for your coworkers.

5) Hone talent for detection. If you are serious about avoiding the flu, listening is the most important skill. The enemy will go to great lengths to avoid discovery, they will be talking less, engaging less, and muffling their sniffle. A trained ear can detect a stealth sickie even if the sickie is sticking to one and two-word answers. Any sign of congestion, you know what to do.
