The reason they prescribe opiates s because they're addictive. That's why we invaded Afghanistan. After we took over, they started producing like 91% of the world's poppy.

There are other alternatives when it comes to pain management, and all of them are devoid of the risk of physical addiction. Why would they need a drug so strong for an injury anyway? Pain won't kill you unless you're already really fat and have a weak heart, which would be a side effect of yet another addiction: food.

Check out what I found when I googled the name of my doc, who started me with methadone + oxycodone in combination at age 22 before we tried anything milder or shorter acting. FYI, hydromorphone does almost nothing when taken orally thanks to something like 20% oral bioavailability, but if you inject it it's a wicked rush and you get the equivalent of about 5x supply of the drug hitting your brain. If you have it prescribed the temptation to inject is absolutely ridiculous. IV use is the only plausible way Gans could have OD'd on it. I don't think it should be given on a take-home basis under any circumstances personally.

With more common oral drugs hydrocodone, oxycodone, methadone the oral BA is more like 80%+ so you'll only get a fractional percentage increase by injecting, not a 500% increase.

This however is bullshit unless you consider manning up to be an alternative. I have given up on ever being treated for my chronic pain condition. I'll just have electric lightning pain melting my cock for a few hours every time I reach orgasm for the rest of my life I guess.

Sounds neuropathic. If haven't yet, gabapentin or pregballin (a scummy stronger version of gabapentin that some people are allergic to) are becoming more first-line treatments for neuropathic pain over opioid medications. Would have to adjust your other medications possibly, some docs will stack it on in a low dose.

Interestingly enough gabapentin is the only thing proven anecdotally (some scientifically) to ameliorate much of the opioid withdrawal syndrome. Many people exit their opioid dependency with a strong course of gabapentin in the acute withdrawal phase.

The reason the 'alternative' medicines that actualy work are still frowned upon, is because the impressionable yuppies who go to med school are taught that ONLY western medicine works and everything else is bullshit. Combine this regiment of brainwashing with their holier than though belief that being a doctor means you're always right, and you've got a herd of glorified drug dealers getting pushed into the medical field with a false belief that only the harmful chemicals they can prescribe you will do anything for you.
