This has been my experience. If he has no pole and you are passing him on a character that already has an earring pass him a fishing pole to deter others killing him (big faction hit) while you mobilise an alt [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.].

There's nothing to hold until the mob spawns. People go afk at their camps all the time, it would be impossible to police.

Which is exactly why afk = not holding a camp. If Hadden is up and someone is nearby but afk, it's not their mob.

How would you know they are afk? They don't have a reason to respond to you - they can just come back right before the spawn and kill it, and the GM will never have a way to prove the guy was AFK while waiting on the pop.

how do people even play this game where you have to wait 6 hours in line behind a guy who's afk to get a crack at the rare and elusive fishbone earring?

don't even think about taking that camp if he's 5 minutes late to tab in from his latest edging session on pornhub, you'll hear about it later in the petition. try to prove it. (see above post)

if you go afk on the red server you die & the whole server laughs at you because you're horrible at everquest.

come to red, where you can kill players like this.
