Most item removals were not listed in patch messages, unless it had a serious impact. Verant/SOE wanted players to explore and figure out the world and not spoil every change to players.
Ex. Manstone/Guise removals not listed. Holgresh Beads/Ornate Velium Pendant change not listed. Mistwalker modification listed, but not its removal. Dragon Teeth/Staff of Forbidden Rites/Indocilite/Cyrosilk Robe removals not listed.
Counter examples where they warned about potential future retroactive change or removals are
Circlet of Shadow/Shadows and
Rubicite/Jboots.
