agree with OP, Yt is really fun for rubbing it in and showing the whole server, but ever since it's been implemented PvP has gotten too sensitive

it makes people play extremely scary where they will avoid the fight or plug at really high HP

it makes people much more willing to backstab or to seek kills against exp groups of lesser geared players where it's almost guarenteed to get an npc assisted kill

over all YT is a cool idea, but the shame/fame aspect of it has made the server more ego driven with lots of rants and flames versus the BEFORE YT era of pvp to have fun pvp and screenshot driven marketing campaigns (which is a much funner and friendlier RnF)

Colgate was one of the first guys to talk about the fear of death culture ruining PvP. And agreed 100%. Those who die get shit on by the entire server, sometimes even their own guild included, for participating.

Poor sportsmanship and a culture that worships KDR = anti-PvP

Not always a lot of it is in attitude. If you accept it and take it gracefully then people respond in kind. Now if your arrogant or run your mouth constantly and make it fun for guildies to troll you then ooc is going to have that effect/response.

I do agree with that last part too many people put too much stock in the leaderboards and take too much joy in griefing others instead of enjoying an aspect of the game that makes it unique in the experience from servers like Blue or non pvp live servers back in the day.

Yt is ok. Global ooc is ok. Global unmoderated Ooc is sick. They did take away global ooc for like a day and people lost there minds.

I for one think you can find groups and trade just fine without it. Hell we did it on live... might force people to go out in thr world and get immersed. Also the value of a friends list would go up.

Or we can all cry about this very unclassic thing called global ooc.
