The DING sound (and many other sounds like bears/other animals etc.) all come from sound libraries that companies pay to use. I've heard EQ bear roars in a bunch of shows. Heard the ding several other places.

I have some of this crap on vinyl. One is all military sounds, tanks, and many different gunshots.

I heard the DING EQ sound watching some Biology video about 13 years ago, I just assumed the producer of the video played EQ and I smiled a little inside.

After thinking about it for a bit, I actually hear the spider scream sounds all the time in movies.

I remember hearing the ding sound in an episode of some cop show about a murderous rpg playing special needs kid. Showed a clip of him playing some game and the ding sound went off a couple times. Pretty sure it was actually a p99er being filmed in real time.
