I think you are about one expansion late. In Kunark you could get everything short of a Crown of Rile by soloing HS South, NG, Crypt, Tranix, and trading in EC. And it probably took less time than the tracking and batphoning the raiders were doing. Velious is much harder. Even the easier spots, like the Kael Arena or DN or WW, are on par with the harder areas of Kunark, like the myconids or HS east or whatnot. Plus, even for someone like me who invented the solo artist challenge, in the end it's more fun to hang out with some friends.

That said doing the SAC with just Kunark gear at this point would be kind of fun since no one is camping any of the stuff on it!

Enchanter probably has the best potential but may be tough to manage. A Shaman/necro/enchanter will be able to solo plenty of content giving you places to make plat.

Shaman, necro, enchanter is the order of how easy I would think the soloing would be. Necro can charm undead but can FD if they mess up.

With Velious out a Shaman can solo a lot of stuff in Velious that an enchanter can't. An enchanter can do a lot of really tough camps in Kunark with charm.

Enchanter has been listed a LOT of times on here, even by me. but, and it is a big but, No Kim K Jokes lol, very few people I have EVER meet on here are great at soloing a Enchanter high end.

They are to me hands down the hardest class on here to play with a Charmed pet. [You must be logged in to view images. They are 100% balls to the wall intense soloing hard zones. Seb, HS, Velious zones, etc. If you can do it well you are Golden. If not you will die, and die a lot. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

I know I am too old to play one now, and I have over 16 years of experience playing them. They are awesome and scary all at the same time. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

So if you can play the hell out of one under pressure from hell have at it, but you will be one of the few that really can pull it off. Not saying you can't, but well good luck pulling it off time after time.... [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Well said webrunner. Enchanter has the most potential both to hard mobs and to die horribly, multiple times. Enchanter is great in a duo with another caster though.

For some classes solo ability changes a lot with level. Necro can solo at all levels about the same. Mages are great early on, but later need to do chain summoning and have a hard time soloing difficult mobs. Shamans are lousy soloers first, but get better with levels and gear. In order to be great, shamans need expensive spells (torpor) and gear.

Druids solo mediocre at first, getting better at mid levels while later getting mediocre again. Wizards start to be good soloers when they can quad, but i think its boring... and its the only way for a solo wiz to get decent xp, all other solo classes here have more options.

The fastest soloer of them all (xp wise) is of course the bard. But its a really mind numbing way to solo (swarm kiting).

Enchanters solo ability is totally linked to charm. To be a great charmer means a lot of micro management and you need to be 100% alert at all times.

Then there are the melee soloers. In order of effectiveness i think it's monk, SK, ranger, paladin. With the possible exception of monk (with good gear) they are all not as good at soloing as any caster class.

Warrior and rogue will not solo, only if they are bored to death or twinked way above their level.

I can tell you from personal experience that enchanters are amazing at soloing in dungeons. In an easier dungeon, say Lguk, I can hold down ass/sup, lord, AM, king, noble, and exe at the same time with ease.

In a more difficult dungeon like HS or seb you can hold down camps that would normally take groups.

Charm breaks are the only difficult thing about being an enchanter and there are myriad of ways to deal with them. Your PBAoE stuns are miracle workers. On a charm break it is possible (and easy) to color slant - tash - recharm (with boltrans) all before the stun wears off so you recharm with only taking one round from your pet (which should be absorbed by your str/rune lines) in 8 seconds.

As for the lvl 16 AoE mez as long as you have about 70+ MR you will resist it pretty much every time and with GRM and your shielding line that is easy to achieve. Once you reach lvl 56 you will be immune. Coupled again with PBAoE this is an amazing "oh shit" combo.

I imagine a shaman would also be a great soloer in dungeons but I have only gotten one to lvl 14 so far. Moving to a camp as an ench is much faster b/c u have calm. And if that fails you have the amazing dps of a hasted torched pet.

BTW, they said that torches don't force dual wield anymore...that is lies, it still works.
