Obviously you are a philistine and a boor who lacks the sensibilities to appreciate the exquisite beauty and artistry of casual quasi-roleplaying. I simply cannot imagine where you might have developed this absurd and unhealthy belief that you are somehow entitled to your own feelings. You will be told what to feel, when to feel it, why to feel it, and how to feel it. You'd best watch your step citizen, you have been warned.

Paladin + Druid is pretty good: very mobile, very survivable, excellent pulling capabilities, unimpressive damage output.

Ranger + Shaman can be amazing, only real weakness is indoor pulling.

Focus items yes, daggers, no need to bother.

EDIT:

Actually other than the components to cast the mage pet. You don't even need focus items. They are an added ~20% Pet HP bonus, but not necessary.

Ahhh, I didn't know that. I've never rolled a magician.

If she's a druid, enchanter is the way to go. Two huge utility classes with almost zero overlap. By the late teens the enc can swap from pets to charm and then at 29 you can exp anywhere with ports. While cler/enc will wreck the top end, an ENC's best friend pre-55 is a druid.

Outdoor dungeons are best (for harmony), but you can duo anywhere.

Since she's set on playing a druid, roll a wizard and quad kite together [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Since it hasn't been said I'm going to throw ranger/shm out there. I really liked it.
