You are retarded if you don't think that electricity will electrocute everything inside of that water on its way down.
When it hits a conductor like that, it tends to spread instantaneously until resistance makes it dull out or completely stop travelling... Even a large pool can not give that much resistance to stop these guys from killing their retarded selves.

Also, if you were to ever change out a wall socket or light switch without flipping the breaker you would know you get quite a zap. But nothing lethal. By design.
