Wrong. Dwaves have more STA than any race which is the most important stat, then wis is 2nd.

Dorfs have +25 sta and -12 wis on high elves. Giving them +13 to stats over high elves. However, for a Dwarf you should put +5 to agi to have 75. So you really have +8 over high elves. Wis is much easier to max than sta.

Dwaves have best starting str/sta and 2nd best wis. They win. Also, Dorfs are awesome.

If you're not taking into consideration Sal'Varae's Robe of Darkness and the reasonably more obtainable Symbol of Tunarian Worship into consideration, you aren't min/maxing.

1 STA = 3 HP, so a 75 HP spread is what you're hanging your hat on?

I'm with Curtis: If you're min/maxing, you're looking at end game and who cares about a robe and an amulet -- all about dat HP and MR... Only thing bad about dwarves is you can't wear Robe of the Azure Sky.

Basically, I'm down with play what you wanna play. Value of a class is 99% the player and 1% the race. Can't fix a bad player and there is a big difference between a great player and a mediocre player when the cards are down. (that said, a cleric is gonna be sad if they are taking damage and would have been able to clutch that CH on the tank if they had 75 more hp)

I speak of pure min/max.
Ignoring the click effect of a donnals that makes is some serious broke ass shit
http://wiki.project1999.com/Robe_of_the_Azure_Sky
Now lets throw this one into the mix http://wiki.project1999.com/Sal%60Va...be_of_Darkness.

In short, if you're going to be a cleric, you want to be in the robe wearing races for cleric. SO we will say all robe clerics are good. Gnomes, Humans, Erudites, Dark Elves, and High Elves.

High elves get http://wiki.project1999.com/Symbol_of_Tunarian_Worship Which isn't a particularly hard quest do to. People will have significantly more difficulty picking up faction armor sets than this one.

If you genuinely want dat hp and dat mr, dwarf base stats don't make up for the BiS items they can't wear.

No robe can give a cleric sneak and hide. Both forms of the robe's flowing thought are replaceable by other BIS. http://wiki.project1999.com/Matchles...de_Breastplate is good enough considering the other relevant stats will cap with buffs.

if its going to be his first char on red... being able to come and go from most cities and bind/bank is going to be great

groups catering to you is nice, so is being able to rock Azure Sky / Salv

Erudite has a lil more starting MR than the average char, so does dorf but... eru CT stuff is good questing, got one to 60 on blue (MLK!), highly recommend

Thanks for all the help everybody. Really appreciate the responses trying to help a newbie out.

Seems like the vast majority of you say CT is the way to go. Honestly, if i'm going evil I'd rather just go Innoruuk DE. I picked Erudite specifically because I wanted to be good alignment.

I also probably should have specified that I'm blue not red.
