I think the point went that way; you must have missed it. Check back later?

PS - I know there are some nice folks out there; I just hate sitting in groups where massively twinked people are telling me everyone cheats, but no they are clean; they got friends. This isn't even a 1 time thing.... it happened so much a year + ago that I left.
We used to be able to trade accts for plat, so maybe people were actually playing legitimately..

Could probably put a dent in RMT by nerfing multi-questing and AE exp. They're probably making more money per hour selling Chardok pulls for five bucks a pop than they are selling toons and gear.

My problem is this:
How do you really know if you are trading with a RMT'er or if you are getting "tainted"

Let's say I buy afungi tunic from some random dude in EC. I fork over the 60k+ and get the fungi tunic.

Then 3 months down the line I might get banned because this person I traded with turned out to be a RMT'er.

If I don't have a log..even if I did how is that proof of my innocence?

So because of one unlucky deal I risk losing my account in a ban wave?

Further more:
When thinking about it - how would you even know if the trade causing you to get flagged was for a specific item. When I think about it I have been buying and selling a lot like probably everyone else. sold item for 1k, bought item for 3k - sold item for 4k, bought item for 6k etc. So everytime I make a trade I risc dealing with some douche that has RMT'ed or is a RMT'er. I know this sounds paranoid, but when we invest the time we do in a game like EQ it sure would help if we had some kind of reassurance that our chars don't get cought in some ban wave script [You must be logged in to view images. From the last ban wave, people got their accounts back after proof was posted.

Perhaps a lesson to run a log and save it, and take screenshots of any large transaction you do...the screenshot will obviously save the date and if the item was 'hot' you've got a point of reference to look back on.

It should be tunnel fat cat 101 by now really, cover yourself.

Always have /log on. It's helpful to say "Thanks for buying my ITEMHERE".

Then you can show the logs of someone giving you 60k, you auctioning to sell a fungi and you selling the fungi to this guy. They can easily check and confirm you're legit if you can narrow down the exact time of the trade and what was sold for what.

Too much concern is given to this. They aren't just banning people who bought Fungis or Cloaks of Flames. They are banning people who receive trades where one party offers up 30k, and the other offers up nothing. Generally these are MQ sales for Rogue or Monk epics. The buyer often being some guy who wants to RMT and easy mode his way onto the server. They just figured because that guy was flagged for buying RMT Plat, you, when accepting his 30k for nothing in exchange, also are buying RMT Plat.

So this issue is mainly focused on MQ sellers who have to keep logs of their MQ sales. Your average run of the mill EC purchase will not be flagged for anything unless you previously bought plat

500+ accounts got banned for MQ'ing last time? That's a lot of rogue/cleric epics.

Something tells me it wasn't just MQ transactions that were involved.

Either way, if you have logs and get hit you've got some kind of record.

Better advice, don't play the tunnel game... roll an alt [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

That doesn't prove anything though.
I can prove that the transaction occurred - But they already know that - since the script flagged my char.
Anyway I should probably be wearing a tin foil hat - stuff like this just makes me think and worry a bit.
If my account was ever to get banned it would make the wife happy atleast [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
