Yea, I've been accused of boxing before because I had a friend log my alt in and afk him in a group with my main (both have similar names).. or because a friend was using my wizard to port for $$ while I was raiding on my main. Basically if you have two characters with similar names and they're on at the same time, people automatically assume the worst.

Unless you have more than mere suspicion - I would avoid wasting the GMs time personally.

if i see someone that is obviously autofollowing i don't report it because I just assume it is a husband/wife team and the wife is following around doing nothing because women are terrible at video games

My wife and I get asked in group a lot if Im boxing because she doesn't speak that much and does Auto follow a lot since she doesnt know the game world. Im not sure how much more we can do to prove it to some people. It does make me paranoid because this is really the only game we want to play.

This is my wife. She auto follows whenever we have a long run to make. She hits f10 and sits back and enjoys the scenery as it goes by.

There's abit of grey area on that [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Example - friend logging on your toon and afking him in group for you to exp. Technically not boxing but will certainly look like it.

And then there's people boxing from multiple IP addresses.

It IS hard to enforce the no boxing rule, and then there's certain things like what loke is doing, which if questioned over it at the time would have come across as very suspicious (ie. someone sending him a tell and then the alt who is similarly named and the simarly named character is afk, albeit being played by a separate person who is afk)

And now my head hurts... but yeah, it is hard for gm's to enforce it, and i imagine the only people who do get banned are the ones the gm's are sure about.

Threads like this make me paranoid of the inevitible day when my wife and I are asked if we are boxing. We're in adjoining rooms and can just talk. Her butt's on the ground a majority of the time medding.

I understand the animosity towards boxing on this server, and I didn't even like it in live. However, there seems to be an anxiety over it on p99 where people are wanting to see it before they even open their eyes.

It's like assuming a plumber isn't booksmart and being surprised when he or she can critically deconstruct The Great Gatsby...
