Seems like there is no real standard then. Just figure it out up front.

autosplit - as I said, it had long been viewed as inequitable since it splits coins.

Main looter - this is the best, but does not work well for PUGs IMO, especially when people frequently come and go. There's also the "trust" issue in PUGs.

HHK goblin groups do alphabet looting rotations for the ears. Most do /random on the 50pp large bricks that drop

I always ask when i join a group. Some people are not interested in looting at all, others are.

Mostly I see FFA and randoms on valuable items. My HHK basement group did alpha loot until you got a goblin ear then the next person in the rotation looted, what worked fairly well.

Set up a /split 0 0 6 0, /split 0 0 0 6 hotkey and spam on it to dump your small change on your other group members if they all go afk.

Cos you check the corpse for cash loot but don't have to loot/destroy the other crap. Or /hidecorpses allbutgroup if you know someone else went through the most recent pile of corpses.
