or maybe his combat log only shows a dot tick 1 mele swing and a spell resist. His mana pool is empty. From these known facts i discerned that he had been meleing him for some time not sure if the last of his mana used on an unresistable dot would be able to finish the job

kim is a smart player, he will calculate his attacks to have just enough mana to kill you and still do some experimenting with resist checks and what not.
