Never claimed to be the first one to think of the idea =) After i thought of it and started researching it there are 5-6 patent applications out there with a similar idea. If you scroll to the bottom of that particular patent you will see that it is "dead." Even if it were not dead our patent wouldn't infringe on their claims.

Coming up with the idea and getting it patented sadly is the easier part of this whole ordeal. Bringing it to market is a whole new beast.

No, too easy to screw yourself over if you are not very familiar with the language and ins and outs of the process. Non provisional Patent ran me ~ 8 grand.
