Yeah listing the server naming policy is great and all. But last night in MM there was a guy named Ghettopapasmurf Isthebestthinggoingtoday. So obviously the naming policy is a little fast and loose here anyway. A name like Deadpool is not outside of the reach of fantasy themed role playing as far as I'm concerned. I think its a cool name anyway and makes a lot of sense in my mind in a high fantasy game.

I never banked with my groups on classic live. Banks tended to be fairly empty unsocial places in my classic live experience.

FIrst part true, who wanted to wait around while you re-org'd your bank shit? "OMG which bag did I leave that in?" (also, iirc, you had to right-click each item individually to get the name of it in classic UI) "WTF who's the asshat that trained the banker away I can't move with all this shit in my inventory" & etc. But there were casters that liked to hang out near banks and give out SoW/Skin/Bind/Clarity/trashloots to lowbies, often leading to guild recruitment pitches as you might expect. Also, players that hated gBay would auction their lewts at random times in other bank zones. Mostly the classic banking experience just sucked tho, especially after they nerfed leaving NORENT items in the bank to stop them from poofing when you logged (anybody else remember how magicians bitched about losing their lucrative bandage summoning practice?)

After most dungeon groups we would port to Misty and bank in rivervale. That aside almost every time I went to the bank there was atleast one other person in the bank converting coin or shuffling quest items or CR gear around in their bank!

People hanging around banks was definitely classic, although I don't know if it was just because of the UI limiting your ability to move items around easily. I think a big factor was also that people didn't always feel the need to be doing something productive (like grind or camp something) while in game, and were happy to just hang out in city areas and be social.

I do remember running into people in pretty much every bank I used back then, although some were of course more busy than others. On Mithaniel Marr the Gfay bank always had several people, and the Qeynos bank had at least a couple others, as did Rivervale. I don't remember seeing too many people around the Kaladim bank though.

Of course, the North Freeport bank was THE place to be on our server, and usually had dozens of people in and around it. I still don't understand the appeal of EC as a trading zone, NFP was so much better.

my life in EQ summed up [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] and as far as the naming goes. Personally aslong as its not a offensive name then i really dont care. I like seeing actors/actresses/cartoon character names ingame. It's not like this is a RP server where everyone is roleplaying.
