I don't have much experience with Taken leadership, but the experiences I did have were all positive. They even have a dedicated "yell at Chest" officer. How can anyone dislike that?

nothing to see here, the Chardok group in question was not only
1. Not even pulling 2. Not fully formed But the 2 enchanters they had 'penciled in' logged in only to support the guild group we formed up. Neither of them asked to be on the list or a part of AoE. We showed up with 2 DPS, 3 enchanters, puller, cleric. Made sure they were not pulling or even fully formed and then just did our own thing. The only toes that were stepped on is the phat plats that could not be gained for a couple hours ( I think it was only a guild group for maybe 3 ish hours ). Sorry the truth is not very exciting :/ | ||

But, the actual facts go something like this: Myself and another player formed up early AM to get Chardok AE going. A list was formed. People came in, were added to it, left to go do their business while waiting for it to start. All standard operating procedure. When we had 6 of the 7 players required to start, yes, a member of <Taken> did log in, and was penciled in for the 1 remaining enchanter spot (not 2 spots as misrepresented in the post quoted above). Why would we do such a thing? Because the player in question logs in to do Chardok AE every single day, so it wasn't a very far stretch. At this point, <Taken> zone in with their force of 7, said sorry we're taking it because we want to PL a mage CotH bot from 40-55, and immediately pulled. No real form of discussion was ever considered. Trying to have an adult conversation with them resulted in mostly /ignores. PMs were sent to specific members, and were replied to in dismissive fashion or simply ignored. They did not stay for 2 or 3 hours. They stayed for 8. All the while rotating in different members of their guild to prevent anyone else from getting in. They did claim several times to be "leaving soon", which kept getting longer and longer. Eventually yes a whole whopping 3 of them left. The remaining players stayed in for probably another 6 hours, so about 14 in total. An important point to note in all of this, is that most of the members of <Taken> that did this were frequent visitors to the normal Chardok groups we have going, every single day. They knew that the well understood policy here is you get on the list, you wait for your spot. Were they within their rights as far as server rules go? Of course! Was it a scummy, inconsiderate, douchebag move? Absolutely. If you want to PL a mage from 40-55, there's a zone oh I dunno about....5 FEET from Chardok called Burning Woods. You may have seen people AE killing the hundreds of trash mobs there, especially at that time of day, in about never. So please, <Taken> members, don't embarrass yourselves by claiming you were doing it only to help your guild. This was a tactic to get everyone you wanted in to leapfrog everyone else on the list, instead of waiting your turn. If what I say isn't true then you wouldn't have suddenly started selling proxy slots after several hours. If anyone reading this is not a fan of Chardok AE groups, I completely understand your point of view. It's frustrating, and breeds jealousy, to see players out there gaining levels much faster than everyone else. Gaining plat much faster than everyone else. I think most people, myself included, are just waiting for velious, and this has been the best thing to do to kill time. Finally, I would encourage anyone who keeps lists in Chardok to ban members of <Taken> from them. Their actions hurt everyone else in the myriad different guilds that come together to do these groups, and it should not be acceptable to continue to allow them a slot if they do not pay the same consideration to you. | |||
