My question is this: Would a gamer with my background who likely won't get into a raiding scene get much out of playing here? I'm dying to recapture the early experience again of being a noob in Qeynos, advancing to Blackburrow, kiting scarecrows and ultimately running from Hill Giants.

Mostly, the kind of people that post on the forums are the ones dedicated enough to raid. There are plenty of people between levels 1-45. The server really is as good as it sounds.

I wouldn't worry too much about raiding. Unless you plan on super-grinding, just leveling is gonna give you as much eq as you need.

Hell levels.....are real.....on p99

Just a short follow up that may aid others in the future who are considering this place.

1) Struggled a while on choosing my first character, I tend to just go full blast on whatever I come out of the gate with. Do I play my original favorite character, a Half Elf Druid...and pretty much just "do it all again"? Then I recall how druids weren't exactly highly sought out in groups (and I love groups, soloing not so much)...but I sure loved their utility. So...for now..druid it is!

2) Within a few minutes of being born, at the gates of Qeynos people are placing high end buffs on me. The players are very welcoming to the new players and that really got me rolling.

3) Later in the day, I reach a whopping level four (took longer than I expected) - I go exploring Qeynos Hills. I pass an ogre who messages me and tells me to stop, and while I was concerned he might EAT me, he hands me a few items and a fair amount of platinum. I will remember these kind gestures and will pay it forward down the road.

It appears based on feedback I've received, relocating out near EC will be much more beneficial, I have to admit I feel right at home in the Qeynos area but can't wait to take that dangerous journey east.

I will definitely continue to enjoy this terrific server and pleasant population. It feels like I have traveled back in time and am playing EQ for the first time again. If you're looking for that feeling, this is the place!

hitmanloki: I was on UOSA and then a spin-off shard that formed off that one, I will likely try UOF if I ever get the itch to play UO again, but I'm hoping I don't.

Welcome aboard. You can make this server what ever you want. Solo, grouping, EC tunnel rat, all are welcome. Just like in real life, be nice to others they will be nice to you. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
