Why did EC triumph on so many servers, wiz and Druid ports? It would seem ease of access to banker for good and evil classes would trump port locations.

1 zone from 1 druid port

Using NFP as common trading ground :

Same zone banking for good and evil.
2 zones away from Wiz and Druid ports.
1 zone away from boat.

Plus the giant headache with traveling with large amounts of pvp is negated.

Iirc Gfay and NFP had some activity just not as much.

On Nameless, it was EC tunnel (and by the time I started, in Sep 1999, it was jam packed). And nearly every time I went through GFay (which wasn't that often) it was dead.

NFP on Saryrn. Luclin was released so quickly after AB opened, that I don't think I ever got a chance to shop in EC - until now.

NFP was Saryrn's tunnel. It had plusses and minuses really. You were farther from ports but closer to a bank. Remember that back in the day most people kept all their pp in the bank of their main, not on a mule sitting somewhere. Also, far fewer people would grind NFP faction up/tag lucan, far fewer people would use invis items like larrikan mask or whatever, far fewer people knew about banking through walls, etc.

NFP is where P99's tunnel should be.

An interesting thing to note, for those who didn't start from the beginning, is that the Saryrn server was created by being split off from Veeshan, as the Veeshan server just got too damn full. As has been mentioned already, NFP was also the main banking area when I played on Veeshan.

It's cool to think that the "culture" of a server can be transferred in such a way.
