The thing about it being a voluntary service is that participants are expected to make a conscious, informed decision about their enlistment. You were free to make your own choice about whether to 'serve', and you chose something that is a lot of work and pays like shit. Take responsibility for your life and your decisions, nobody owes you anything. The entire essence of it being a 'service' means you're not entitled to come back and expect to cash in on a wave of charity, respect, and appreciation. If people choose to give you those things, that's great; however, the tone of your post clearly indicates that you expect those things, which leads me to conclude your decision to 'serve' was driven more by calculated self-interest than altruism.

So which is it? Were you serving us, or were you purchasing our service?
If you don't understand that VA healthcare is part of the deal for serving then your dumb as shit too.

I could have said fuck it and done a ton of different things. But I put my heart and soul into serving and I made a deal with uncle sam. Seriously. Yes it's voulentary. But it is a bigger thing then I will just "be a slave". It's better than being a blackwater or academi merc. It is a sacrifice. And everyone who serves deserves respect and good treatment for their service. Especially those enlisted. Who really get shafted every fucking day.

I don't know how to explain this any better. People voulentarily serving in the military are still giving their time away at a loss. The military is a group. It is not a 1 person job. Everything you do and put into while your in the military goes into the group.

The VA is part of this system for those who honorably serve to give back a little bit of that. If we ran the military VA like you and mr nihilist wants. Then everyone would be responsible for their own care 100% and no wounded war veterans would get taken care of. No one would give a shit about those people. I'm not denying anyone else care. I asked this and had it explained to me before I even elected to pursue this with the VA. Everyone who serves earns it.

If you don't understand how socialistic systems work. I can't explain it. I'm not really able to make it any clearer.

It's not easy and you are underpayed and overworked and the stress you put yourself through is on par with a lot of top end athletes.

So chill the fuck out and /pras America were we are free to make our own choices and live our lives peaceably, not by some dogma or dictates of an elite few clergy or what other people tell us.

I'de still be serving if I had gotten help for this earlier and the world was just a little more mature 10 years ago.
Oh nice, my tax money is paying for your gender confusion help from the V.A.? How can you say you earned this? Nobody held a gun to your head forcing you to sign the papers to be a paid soldier. You voluntarily signed the papers, and now your draining the rest of the people you decided to 'serve'. Yea riiiight with your /pras America land of the hustlers and scam artists, you getting 100% disability too? Please tell us your disability rating. How much money you getting a month from us taxpayers?

This assumes that:

1. veterans didn't earn their benifits
2. that Gender identity disorder (GID) or gender dysphoria is not an illness that should be treated like any other.

That's your personal belief. But sorry you don't get to decide for the whole world. Go vote.

Though I hope one day your personal beliefs aren't so jaded and cruel. And I hope that you can one day appreciate that people go and poor their souls into defending the country were you can be mad about shit you don't even know about.

As to all the smokers in my thread [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.] I support your choice. If it's part of what keeps you living life instead of being a mindless unhappy drone in a massive machine. /love u anyway

Even if it's reallllly horrible [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Also, I see smokes has brought you all together here, sharing something in common is good.

To the persons mad about people who aren't like them. Hope you can stop focusing on what other people are or are not and we can find common ground one day.

Common sense, swapping your penis for a vagina is a luxury that taxpayers don't need to be paying for. You are not the only veteran here. So you managed to convince the VA you got a problem, but you really don't. They got an illness for everything, and a handout for it too that's why this country is broke. I got two co-workers doing the same thing, they run to VA lay on the floor and pound the floor with their fists screaming "Help me, I'm mentally disturbed, PTSD" and guess what they get 1-2k a month and there is nothing wrong with them and they will freely admit it. They think their smart, just like you. You might have fooled the VA, but coming to RNF with that shit doesn't fool us.

What was I thinking? Using words with more than three letters. You'll come face to face with yourself eventually.

Naw, most overwieght i've been was at 220, and 5'9'' and that was just 1 year prior to entering the military.

I got bewbz at puberty b4 I got overweight. Genetic, deep down coding shit that's not really understood by medicine.

If you seen other pics of me, you seen how skinny I was ( the one in my plaid shirt in picture thread ). I was 170 in that picture. Right now I'm back to 176 trying hard to loose the rest and get under 160.
