i remember when pupupu left red dawn he typed some huge essay on their forums about how he wasn't joining nihilum and that red dawn simply wasn't for him

next time i logged on he was tagged in nihilum

I made up something that sounded nice at the time. I didn't like leaving, but I didn't like being in Red Dawn anymore.

Truth was I was kicked earlier from RD prior to my leaving January because I was suspected of conspiring with Nihilum. At the time RD let me join back, but I never got over the whole being thrown out like I was trash after being with the guild since it's reformation and before the pug raids began. After mulling it over for a month, I left the guild forfeiting ~150 unspent DKP. I went without a guild for two or three weeks, and then joined Nihilum because I wanted to raid.

Red Dawn is a great guild with a lot of great people in it and my gripes are mostly with what I suspect was paranoid Azrael guild members making demands of the leadership at the time. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, RD would lose me in the long run.

As far as my thoughts on Azrael go: I never liked Azrael. They griefed me constantly prior to joining Red Dawn following me around and going out of their way to kill me on corpse runs. They went after Red Dawn raids early on throwing sleeper agents into the pug raids that would disrupt raids from within. I wasn't surprised by the Azrael-RedDawn merger (there was no other way RD was going to compete for Kunark content at the time), but I was never okay with the alliance. I can't even imagine how horrible playing the server must be with Azrael members around the corner for non-porting classes. At least as a druid, I could always get back to my corpse in roughly thirty minutes or less.

I'm enjoying Nihilum. After leaving I Red Dawn I indeed did not want to join Nihilum because I felt loyal to RD. Nizzar offered me an invite though and I took the invite. They gave me a chance and I gave them a chance. Prior to joining Red Dawn, I had every intention of joining Nihilum because I never wanted anything to do with Azrael. Realistically I'm just back to where I was before I joined Red Dawn.

When Azrael split off from Red Dawn (somewhere between one and two weeks after joining Nihilum), Lite offered me a position in the reformed Azrael. I declined the position. I'm glad I did since I can see just what Azrael members think of me.

there is no way to justify joining nihilum, you are hurting the server. even if you dont think you are
