Yeah monks only get extremely OP in velious once in NToV gear and have fun with the spawn timers / the amount of monks here ahead in raid guilds to even get drops
Id say hands down Shaman is the most OP class in velious, necro being second, then again just my opinion

Mend every 30 seconds (devs were stupid and have them too many ranks that reduced reuse by 30s, eventually they tried to give another rank and it was insta reuse during one beta. Herpderp), rapid feign, fade every 2 minutes, disc to mitigate DTs and AEs by 90% (at 75 you live through a 100k DT no problem). Live monks are quite OP even relative to other live abilities.

I had a BFG on live that I acquired during SoV. It was fun to play around with but then it was nerfed twice. The first time it's casting rate was increased to slow as dirt speed and the second time was where if you had more than around 50 sv magic, it'd be resisted. The only people on Veeshan that I knew of that had one other than myself were asian guilds which used ShowEQ to find it's location. Plus for months the reward for the quest was a random pristine? quality velium weapons before they even added the BFG to game. So not many people knew about it until the planking stopped spawning and the quest was removed. So if this quest is actually implemented into P99, I hope they know that you couldn't get a BFG right off the bat.

Earliest listing of this quest was on March 21 2001: https://web.archive.org/web/20010321...tml?quest=1210
That's about 3 months after Velious launched, and it lists the BFG as the reward. The only thing that seems strange to me is that the quest text DOES say that he has "plunder and booty" to part with as a reward. However, he gives you an item named after himself so it seems more personal than "plunder and booty." But Verant was never known for consistency.

Firiona Vie had some pretty hardcore rules for a blue server.
-Language skills will improve only through group chat in the same zone and from /say. - Languages will only improve 1 point each hour and will be capped at level*5+5 skill points. - Common will not exist. A Human language will be added and only made easily available to certain races. - One character per account. - Bind Affinity will be restricted for all characters to locations where melee characters can bind on other servers. - /emote will be language specific - All characters will be /roleplay.

All of those have since been removed except the lack of common tongue. Everyone just speaks elvish there.

A classic Firiona Vie server is something I could see myself rerolling onto.
