Pay it forward.

When I first started on the server I got a ton of fat hookups: PP for spells, an FBR, braided cinch cord, gator scale sleeves, and a full set of cha jewelry. All of this from total strangers.

I do my best to return the favor now that I'm established. There are tons of pieces of gear that go unused because they aren't BIS but they are 100 times better than any gear a newbie can get.

It's simply rewarding. I was once told to go back to Halas and remind the young ones they aren't forgotten. I have sent numerous people on this journey.

Do some pulls for people. My fun times lately has been to take some folks (14-20) all they downstairs in befallen. That place is deserted and has a sick zem.

I do it for shits and giggles, karma, etc. Also its nice to have what I percieve as a good reputation. I hate sitting in EC trying to sell stuff, sometimes its easier to just hand it out. I often pass stuff down to people that I inspect that look like they could use it. Getting shit housed during a sky raid on a Friday also helps, I've probably given away over 7k doing that here and there on random Fridays.

I help people when they're friendly, considerate, and especially when they don't ask for it or expect it.

I enjoy helping newbies because I was helped when I was a newbie and I remember how it felt.

I don't give out coin though. I primarily give out buffs (Shaman) and any newbie items I might happen to have at the time.
For example; I commonly kill targashin in FoB and give the mask to a random monk in the zone.

When I first started out Anleus hooked me and two of my friends up after finding out we were new players. I believe Etzio gave my bard, Romp, her first Lambent pieces at Orc 1 in EC.

I bet since then I've given away 40-50k in plat/gear to random players. Whenever I find good deals on nice lowbie stuff in the tunnel I snatch it so I can give it away guilt-free to some poor soul. If I over-pay the capitalist in me dies.

It's a blast giving legit new players gear. Things like weapons, hp rings, buffs, etc. make such a huge difference in the early game. A while back Tacite told me about doing bard pulls for lowbies fighting at the Kurn's entrance. Ever since, any time I'm near FoB, I run out there with my bard and do the same and try to give some stuff away, too.

That is one thing I like about CoM is there is a ton of good weapons that drop there that I give to noobs. And on my Druid in the tunnel I always give out full buffs for those that ask. I never go annon in the tunnel.

Like it has been said everyone has been helped out at one time or another in this game.

The power of Christ.

But no. I still remember getting 200p on my first char, a lv 17 shaman in Innothule from a stranger. I still remember getting 50p the day before. I got given full banded armor. Eventually a friend I was lvling up with Sunnyvale, bought me a full set of wis gear for like <1k. At the time I thought I was in extreme debt and thankful for the stats but eventually I started making money and started paying it forward to new players.

I gave away that 17/30 sword from seb yesterday to a lvl 6 pal using a rusty 2hs, basically just because why not. Anything under 1k I probably won't sell anyway so I usually just give it away. In groups I always pick up items that are passed or rotted for the express purpose of finding someone who can use it.

Entertainment.

I'll help out new players occasionally with pp or items I've found in higher Kunark zones.

I'll also sit and watch you die to a named mob without supplying assistance.

So basically, don't rely on me for anything unless we are grouped, guilded, or already friends.
