I was a kid with zero responsibility if I didn't spend it on EQ i would of spent it on something else stupid.
Yeah I think thats the people RMTers are looking for, people with money to spend and nothing good to spend it on. Plenty of grown ass people here doing the same still I'm sure.

Something tells me 30-40% of the people on this server have made a purchase from PlatLord at one time or another. An EMU server won't stop people from buying currency. Players are just as committed on EMU servers like they are on Live.

Those numbers just feel a bit high... i'de cut em in half. But thats really based on my very uninformed opinion about it in this specific environment.

I have spent plenty of money, on plenty of games. I've been playing one game since 09 and have spent a couple thousand on it in total. But never once did the thought of buying an item on p1999 ever cross my mind. Not the first character I leveled up with nothing but leather armor. Not for my newer character who still needs upgrades. Time may equal money, but losing the time spent on an account isn't worth a few pixels.

Yeah after thinking about it I figured it would be better to say 15-30%. Still a lot, but, if any of the people that play P99 are like my friends, they more than likely bought some plat. Any and every friend I know how bought in-game currency in MMO's. Shit just happens.

Everyone that posts in RnF would RMT if the following conditions were true:
  1. They had money
  2. They didn't pee their pants in fear of being caught

Stop pretending you wouldn't just because RMT vendors don't take food stamps. Spending 1,000 hours on your computer getting fatter while you continually repeat the same monotonous tasks is not noble. If people are still playing EQ circa 1999 they have (hopefully) mastered their class by now. For normal people that played EQ 15 years ago and now have jobs / families / lives, it's an economics and cost/benefit decision.

For the record... I was not banned for RMT, you all just need to get over it.
Or some people, you know, derive enjoyment from the game via earning the loot themselves. It's not fun to put in your credit card number and recieve everything in the game. EQ is about the journey not the destination. 2/10 on the troll post though.

RMT here is like entering a cheat code on a normal video game or lowering the difficulty to easy. The P99 cheat code: XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX (<---your debit card number).

You need to quit seeking accomplishments in video games.
And especially this.

Why wouldn't you, is the real question here.
1. Because it is anti-fun?
2. Because there are better things on which to spend real money?
3. Because there is nothing in the game that is worth spending real money?
4. Because I don't care?
5. Because I don't trust those who RMT?
6. Because my identity is me?
7. Because it hurts the game?
8. Because there are no true accomplishments in a video game?
9. Because buying something is not an accomplishment?
10. Because it's stupid?
