definitions out of context don't really mean anything at all. a word is a tool, not an end in itself.
Refusing to "see race," or the willful ignorance necessary to think that society is "post racial," or refusing to acknowledge that racism exists in all of our lives to a certain extent is in fact racism, as per D.Tutu's axiom that remaining neutral in situations of oppression is tantamount to taking the side of the oppressor. One cannot remain neutral in this case, it is - if you will pardon the expression - black and white.
