The point is numbers game is dumb

I can who all both guilds after work and 7/10 times azrael will have more - albeit more people leveling as opposed to 60s waiting for something to do

I was at a few of the trak fights before nihilum tag when azrael had 10 or 15 more.

Ive wore the nihilum tag when we clicked into bubble w 17 online to clear down with 3 melees total 2 bards and a ranger rest casters to clear down to Azrael already on poop mt while we hoped some melees would log in by time we cleared shrooms and before repop and entire time disputing whether it was suicide or how to poke and stall.

Point is: Azrael's numbers do not fluctuate like Nihilum. So any "numbers" point you have is completely moot. Fact is, nihilum does have more players than azrael. As Azrael pushes back the timers via pvp (raping nihilum with equal numbers), the nihilum numbers begin to dwindle due to prime time turning into late night.
