I am positive toward the future of red99 and with some minor tweakage of resists I think this server could be an even playing field and a very fun pvp experience.

This is something outside of Alecta's control. He is simply PvP dev. Others on red have already brought up mechanics that hinder their pvp on Red but it would also effect PvE so he can't touch it (Andis commenting about rogue hide/sneak sucking, not allowing him to ambush groups with rogue in dungeons).

Alecta also comes from a background of PvP and that is his interest. If people are upset about Alecta devoting his time to PvP they have the wrong attitude towards it. Having Alecta doesn't subtract from Blue, it is simply an addition to Red. If you want someone to work on Blue you either need to talk with current developers or find someone to join the team.

This was not my point at all. My point was that PVE fixes on red might be more effective in terms of making the server enjoyable than PVP fixes. Alecta will of course work on whatever he enjoys, which is how it should always be with any volunteer project.

I seem to remember a great deal of bitching about how Azrael was killing Trakanon and then a server reset came and moved his spawn time back to US prime time. Threads demanding variance and such.

I guess every now and then I forget that the real problem with red is the community. Ah well, thanks for reminding me. I'm out, you may now return to your regularly scheduled programming.

Alecta doesn't have the jurisdiction to make PvE rules. This is reserved to Nilbog/Rogean or whoever else. It took the dev team a long time to hand over some power to someone just to make PvP changes. All changes Alecta is making should pertain to PvP alone.

Before Alecta it was only Nilbog/Rogean that would make PvP decisions. Everyone thinking they take time away from Velious for Red don't know enough about the two servers. It took Red 2 years to get those changes Alecta did in a few weeks time. It took Nilbog/Rogean 18 months just to add in yellow text for pvp kills, which probably took a half hour of work.
