A new blue server would be awesome and yield more players then any pvp server will.

Id love an auto unlocked progression server every 6 months, with real fironia vie or permadeath rules. And as for fironia vie id like every rule from that server brought here. No common tongue, no No-drop items, 1 character allowed to me made per IP(because you could only have one character on FV back in the day)

The pvp players have done nothing but act like ungrateful bitches and ruined the pvp server with all sorts of cheating and griefing new players. So we are giving them a new one? 90% of the P99 players dont want to play on the pvp server simply because its a pvp server.
I support this. Everquest is mostly a PvE game and perma death would certainly make things exciting.

Trivial loot code would make also make farming harder - imagine rare dungeon loot on such a server.

You'd have to add a 3x or so exp mod to make things a little sane and perhaps make banked items persist across dead characters to not make a death a total loss.

new guilds, new people, new challenges each "reset"

Make new blue server that follows classic patch timeline

when it has reached velious and is worn out (2ish yrs in Velious)

merge with old blue

rinse and repeat? [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Not enough players to split the population among 2 blue servers. Keep recruiting, and by 2017 there might be good grounds for something new [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

Anyone who played on Test during classic knows that there's plenty of players to go around here. In fact way more than I would personally like. Live servers in classic were just obscenely and ridiculously overcrowded.

Not to mention it's not unreasonable to expect there would be a rather large influx of new/old people coming back to play on a fresh server. I also don't believe the old server would die off - there's too many people there with too much invested and not enough time to start over.

The main thing I'd worry about is there wouldn't be any low level activity on the old blue server anymore... or very little. I suppose that could be seen as a good thing too for certain types.
