Ogre is best until the extreme high end game (very end Velious), and then Iksar is slightly better/equal.

Innate AC bonuses. Plus, Iksar WAR is just plain badass-looking. But that was my main so I'm admittedly a little biased.

Also, someone above mentioned the downside to playing a big friggin' Ogre. I don't think this can/should be underestimated. Where's all the good loot? In dungeons and cramped spaces. In an emergency situation I want to be a tank who can move about freely and quickly, not get slaughtered by a dozen mobs because I've slammed my head into a torch and can't move. Mobility is key.

I'm not taking anything away from Ogres, I just don't think their supposed advantages are as extreme as people tend to think.

Just out of curiosity I'd like to hear more first-hand info from players that have rolled tanking classes which utilize Sneak. There are a few wide-open zones where (as a Rogue) just Sneak was enough, but in almost any place worth hunting (Sol A, within Mistmoore Castle, depths of Guk), I needed to Sneak-Hide to get anywhere. A lot of static mobs spawn in pairs and are positioned to face each other from opposite corners, so while your Sneak allows you to get behind one you're simultaneously in frontal view of another.

I can't imagine a tank being able to Sneak very far without blowing his cover, but I'd love to hear how I'm wrong. Details, please!

As a DE I have a hide button, it doesn't seem to work worth a shit. I thought people rolled Assling because of the exp bonus?
