Why so few Rogues on P99?

I think we need more advice for the newbie OP from the guy who soloed with Epic + Fungi + HP Gear

Although I am semi twinked, I have leveled my rogue purely by grouping (except 1-5 ofc.) Here is where I am at so far:

1-4 newb yard

5-12 ec (wandering blues then orc 1 and orc 2)

13-14 north ro (scarabs and spiders or dervs)

15-20 oasis (crocs)

21-22 Unrest

23-28 (MM and where I am currently to at least 30+)

Average wait time on group is maybe 10 mintues. Twinking has had little impact outside tanking in Oasis a couple of levels when I was with all casters. for levels 1-14 youll be a zone away from EC (or in EC), ask people nicely for buffs. Its not a big deal for some people to buff you while they are trading. Take advantage of the help while its there.

also rogues can duo very well with some classes. I leveled a good portion of my first character (untwinked rogue) by aggro or fear kiting with a druid or necro partner.


More or less have them keep aggro with high threat spells and keep it snared while you stab it in the ass.

Typically level 40 guards in cities til 55. Level 40 guards are blue until 55. At 55 it gets harder.

If two boxxing was available you would see alot more: rogues, monks, warriors, and hybrids. Solo leveling a melee class without being able to box on a server a portion the size of a real eq live server during 1999-2000 where there were groups in most low level xp zones is nearly impossible. They recently nerfed powerleveling on red99 so pretty much the only way to level a melee is with 100K in twink gear.
