PoN Hedge Maze was fun as well as the Tribunal Event. I didn't mind the flagging so much, probably because my guild at the time burned through the entire thing in one night to flag 10 or so members. Plus the Zeb story was pretty interesting. Portal trinket was pretty handy for non-portal people to get out of bad places or places you couldn't leave.

I agree that PoK was a nightmare hub and negated a lot of the usefulness of druids/wiz but at the same time alleviated spam tells for ports.

Luclin was the expansion I started on. PC was fun but I hated trying to navigate through the god awful lagfest of the Baz. I never got on a VT run but did most of Ssra and I enjoyed it.

AA's. I have mixed feelings about this subject. On one hand, they were a good way to promote grouping and on another, a never ending nightmare. MGB was one of the most efficient of them all honestly. I felt that the minor one's were just fluff and had no business there.

GoD was just awful and I hated every bit of it.

That's just my 2 cents worth.

Im anxious for Velious as I didn't get to experience much of that at all. Except the Coldain War Event which was just friggin awesome.

I liked GoD, but I felt like it was more of a top end geared player expansion, and only good for raiding, basically saying if you didnt have top end gear it was pretty miserable for you, mobs were unbalanced, and leashing was very fubar.

I can tell you as a MT, it felt like I got hit by a train filled with smaller trains being pulled by The Rock. Epic 1.5 was a PITA to get and so were the flagging trials. Nearly everything summoned so kiting as a bard was impossible.

What server were you on?? I used to be one of the MT's in Midwinter on Kayne Bayle(AB after merger)

Decent albeit cheesy EQ documentary: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHnDSr-b02Q
Thanks for the link! Man, why oh why are these guys who became "names" in the early days of the industry such wankers? Seriously, it's endemic within the games industry. What is it about games that attracts these guys.

I would have watched this, but cant now. I sincerely appreciate your review. You have been nothing, but, positive to our community... Even on the Red forums... No hate on Red as this is the server I currently enjoy my time on.

PoP flagging, whether rushed or not, was a some-kind-of life experience. It was truly amazing. Agreed that PoK, and Bazaar sucked. I love your post! I only feel that Luclin may deserve more love. The Bazzar should have never been implemented... Nor Luclin spires, or PoK and its stones.

I don't think I've ever once visited the Red forums o_O.

The documentary is interesting by the way and worth watching, though it directly contradicts earlier interviews with both Smed and Brad, so I'm guessing things have been "massaged" to make it a cleaner story. That or the original interviews were wrong. This version puts SOE right there at the beginning and there is no mention of Verant at all, which is weird.

All credit to Smed and those guys for what they did though. It was a very cool thing to have pulled off.

"We were the crazy guys, moving away from the core of the business. The game was being made for the game's sake" - and this is why it was great.

I clicked your EverCracked link, and recall it being BS... I'm sorry man, but "youtube" and "google" doesn't answer much of our EQ drama.

I honestly have much respect for you!

Yet another "Verant was a genius and dumb SOE screwed it all up" thread. Its only been a decade, maybe time to move on?

The end to the Bazaar!
I never agreed with this. Not everyone wants to play Day Trade Online for hours to get decent prices for gear they buy/sell. The lack of Bazaar also makes mudflation a lot worse for starting players. It can be really hard to find anyone selling lower/medium priced gear, because its not worth the time to sit around actively trying to sell.
