just because lots of people go to the convention doesn't automatically mean they aren't fucking weird.

Can't really agree with you there. Things like sanity and normalcy are social constructs. I think eating fast food and driving cars are absolutely insane behavior, but I'm obviously the exception in American culture. A significant number of you probably drove for fast food tonight, risking death in a vehicle you can't really control and then eating garbage that will eventually kill you.

i dont understand what that has to do with lots of people = no weirdos?

Your statement is almost in complete agreement with what i said... lots of people drive... you think lots of those people that drive are insane... isnt that basicaly what i said?

I dont think everyone who watches/enjoys anime is weird, i just think theres a high % of the people that do who are very weird, and I don't think that just because lots of people go to anime conventions automaticaly means they are all socially well adjusted and not spergloids.

Define weird. I think the people in the polarbear club are weird but I wouldn't call them sperglords.

Society at large defines what is weird. Gaming and comic cons used to be fringe activities. Now gaming is a multi-billion dollar industry and Hollywood celebrities go to cons. That means it's not weird anymore. Inter-racial marriage used to be illegal. Now it's not a very big deal. Social constructs don't have any objective existence. They only have the meaning that the general population gives them, 100% perception.
