I had an issue a while back. I was overclocking from 4.2ghz to 5ghz and I could NOT connect to the server for the life of me with that PC. I tried about a million things to get it to work and.. nothing. Then I thought, why not, let me just stock my overclock and try it. What do ya know, im in and never had a problem again. It was kind of stupid in retrospect, now that I think about it. 4-5ghz? lol I didnt notice the difference.

Yeah I have been scratching my head all day, but watch tomorrow it will work like nothing was wrong with it, like yesterday it was perfect, the day before I had the problem I'm having now, and the first day I played no issues. It's like EQ takes every other day off hah

That's crazy to suspect an overclock. I've got my 3570k running from its stock 3.4GHz up to 4.2 or 4.3GHz without any problems, but then I am running on Ubuntu instead of Windows.
Anyways, the first hit on google for the Athlon II P360 is notebookcheck.net. Are you running a desktop or laptop? If you are running a laptop, I strongly advise you do not overclock, especially if you do not know how to reset the bios as you claim in this thread. However, if you do not know how to reset your bios, you likely aren't overclocking in the first place and we're therefore going down the wrong path with this discussion anyways. To enter your bios, turn your computer completely off, and then turn it back on. There should be some text that shows up on your screen when you initially turn on the computer, and it should tell you to press a button to enter the BIOS, for my motherboard its F2. If you don't press the button in time on the first boot, reboot your computer and mash that button until you get into the bios. For more detailed instructions on how to reset your bios (assuming you can't figure it out by browsing the bios menu on your own), google your laptop's make and model and the word "bios". You should find instructions for modifying and navigating your bios from those instructions.

Ok, so what if the factory setting is an overclock? Wouldn't the resetting the bios just set up the overclock?

He shouldn't have to reset the bios, but while we're here and the discussion is geared this way, lets just check it off the list to prove its unrelated.

Yeah, I have never overclocked it personally, it's all default settings on the laptop. Soon enough i'll be back in the states and can try from my desktop. It just frustrates me beyond belief, working one day and the next 1017. Maybe it's my computer fighting the addiction I use to have growing up for this game lol! I think it's the start of the rise of the machines! DUN dun DUUUUN

Umm It's a Dell, got it a couple years ago, from Best Buy. Was only really suppose to be used for AIM and Skype to talk to my wife while deployed. So wasn't expecting much as far as performance from this. I know it runs EQ though cause it runs np when it wants to run the real server.

A good person to ask about EQ while deployed would be Ambrotos, who is also deployed. There is a good chance there is nothing you can do about the 1017. 1017 is basically stating the heartbeat packets (or whatever they are called) between the server and client aren't functioning properly. This could be due to anything from dual-core processors (http://www.thesafehouse.org/forums/s...ad.php?t=25756) to unreliable internet connections (satellite). You may attempt to improve the reliability of your connection by taking out as many factors as you can control (read: swap from wifi to hard-wire (ethernet) connection). But there is also the chance you are simply SOL and not in a 'cats on the moon' kind of way.
