I play every class in this game and I can tell you it is NOT hard to get into the rut as a Mage to JUST send in your pet. It sort of goes with the class in a group after awhile. By the time the mob gets down below 80% and you cast your Nuke the mob is either dead or nearly. So it seems sort of useless to cast it. [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]

You can't teach people to not be lazy. There's a huge difference in someone not using the right spell, not using the right pet, vs being afk for 2 out of 3 pulls. These people aren't bad players. They're just assholes.

The game would crash (intentionally) if you were even able to alt/tab out.

EQw came out and allowed people to play windowed (and/or tab out) but it was frowned upon (bannable?) on live until Sony gave in and built windowed mode into the client, a long while later.

I was soloing in Sol B today on Dramor and I had multiple people break mobs that I had mezzed within the space of 30 minutes. The first time I was healing up with two mobs mezzed and a mage decided to send his pet on one "because I was low hp". I politely (well mostly politely) asked him not to do this and he was like "I don't understand bards". Then I charmed two and when they got low I mezzed them both and was about to finish one off when a monk randomly beat on it with a tstaff, it ran off and aggroed half the zone. I don't think either of these guys wanted to fuck with me, they just had no clue what they were doing.

I really don't understand how people can be bad at a game as simple as EverQuest.
