Is it really a surprise that the same problems on the VZ/TZ server are now identical to the problems on project 1999?
I bet all of you ignorant sheep think the same corrupt powers who conduct power trips, answer your petitions, ban innocents for speaking their mind, cover up, delete and refuse to acknowledge the problems at hand are the same people who developed, programmed, and took the time to create this project 1999 server? The founders are long gone and shunned from existence by the corrupt powers that be.
Just like in which ever corrupt country you live in those that are in power have pulled the wool over your eyes and are manipulating you to maintain that power. Money may not be at the top of the list of best interest but I assure you all that the amount of sucking up is just as good to full fill their grandest desire to maintain control and obedience by use of fear with this project.
It's all very dramatic and emotional but it's all pure manipulation. Behind the curtain, everything being said by the powers at be is just part of a system of manipulation designed to convince you they have your best interest at heart and not being enslaved even while the chains of total control are being silently clasped around your wrists.
Exactly like the corrupt multi-billion dollar corporations that you peasants work for, this project 1999 can become something much more amazing than it is and achieve its highest potential through a simple course of action. Stop giving the multi-billion dollar corporations that take advantage of the consumer and employee money and they will change. Stop playing on project 1999 that takes advantage of players and supporters and it will change. I guarantee for the better.
This is how well-meaning people get suckered into supporting tyranny. They believe in the parlor tricks of slick talking powers at be (your beloved GM). The powers at be are the masters of seance channeling of modern day everquesting. They sound credible and caring but these are just skills of deception closely related to a magician that makes you believe he's actually conjuring a fireball. It's all engineered deception that manipulates the perceptions and cognitive shortcuts to your consciousness.
The number one most important defense against all this is to monitor your own emotional reactions to events and make sure you're not being manipulated into something.
For example, right now there appears to be an effort under way to manipulate the project 1999 players into some kind of passive reaction to claims of unjustified ignorance in regards to cheating, hacking, exploiting, and lying by explaining "there is no evidence." If this occurs, it will create the agenda of showing project 1999 players that they can be rule breakers, hackers, exploiters, and out of control people as long as they leave "no evidence." Regardless of how many that have witnessed.
I personally know someone who admits in real life that a certain grouping of individuals are indeed guilty of what they are accused for he partakes (to this present day). I've seen it first hand watching him at the computer. However, without "evidence" they will continue to understand that the project 1999 players can indefinitely get away with it regardless of those witnessed, admitted, or even screenshot and frapsed because it does not hold as concrete "evidence" that is humorously dismissed as "fake."
I remember the VZ/TZ forum when the server was finally shut down during the final wipe. A thread was created in effort to come clean and admit to wrong doings now that the server was wiped and all is said and done. It was quite the thread that even had those powers at be who you all consider holier than thou gods who control your emotions at the whim of a key press admit foul play.
Those same people who admitted to their hacks, exploits, cheats, lies, malfeasance are still playing on VZ/TZ part two which is project 1999. And yes, those that openly admitted to wrong doings are now in power that you trust with your beloved time sunk character that you desperately devote your life to. It's a hard piece of reality isn't it?
If you think there wasn't money being made with the previous generation of emulated everquest that was VZ/TZ, think again. Just like with the evolved version of VZ/TZ, that is what you all refer to as project 1999, is nothing more than a greater adaptation of manipulation. I can't even count how many times the VZ/TZ population was gouged for "donations" in efforts to "make the server more viable with upgrades." Can you count how many times the project 1999 population was manipulated with "DDoS" and "sketchy downtimes" due to "poor server equipment that desperately needs to be upgraded?" I can. I was here from the beginning.
Don't think that this creation was out of the kindness of their own hearts. No one gave you this emulated version of everquest out of the kindness of their hearts. According to the mindset of the powers at be you are in their debt for as they stated multiple times, "we do not have to answer to you." But guess what happens if you don't answer to them?
The more you understand about how the powers at be uses parlor tricks and illusions to trick you into the response they want to see, the more immune you will be to manipulation.
This type of project could thrive and flourish if it were an open source. If those in control truly cared about everquest and the people that play then the source would be open to anyone to use however they may in attempts to achieve the highest potential. Instead, this project is dying just like my faith in the general good of humanity.
What is left are the sheep of the project. Those that know what is really going on mostly turned away and the rest of the few decide to stay and fight for the highest potential. The heart of the matter is beloved Everquest. The death and destruction of it will be the powers that control just like SOE.
