The OP is clearly asking if his suspicions are correct, in that his first weapon should be one with a good ratio, to help with soloing the first early levels.

Some helpful folks have posted that they agree, and that a great ratio is key for making the initial levels quicker.

All you've done in this thread is show that you didn't even read the OP or that you can't comprehend how having a good weapon for the first levels really speeds them up. You aren't being helpful in any way.

OP, I'd also recommend a Sharkbone Warhammer or maybe even splurge for a Springwood Club which has a slightly better ratio and is still relatively cheap. The kithicor mace has a poor ratio and would be a waste of time to attempt to acquire. It certainly wouldn't help much for those initial levels. Your time would be better spent just making money and buying what you'd like.

Don't mock me swish.

Getting buffs in EC tunnel and meeling the zone is much faster then sitting around casting on stuff. Once I get past that easy exp area I will of course no longer meele.

OK maybe I came across with a bit too much melodrama, but when I started my cleric in Nektulos... by level 6-7 I was at the undead obelisk nuking the crap out of undead.

If you're soloing I'd try and invest in your mana pool long term versus having a weapon to hit slightly harder with for the first 10 levels. I've grouped with some clerics on my SK who refuse to sit down and med, and suddenly they're oom and we're sat around waiting for him to get his mana back.

The point I'm trying to make, obviously missed, was that to be an efficient cleric in a group you'll need to confine yourself to meditating (when you get past orc 1 etc).

If that's not for you, a cleric might not be the way forward...because watching health bars is 90% of what you'll be doing from Unrest onwards.

Good luck with Genedin, obviously with buffs you can do more solo...I play off peak a lot of the time and there weren't so many EC bots sitting around when I was levelling.

You have to be one hell of a Twink on here to be a Battle Cleric. Wrathbone Hammer is sometimes free in the Tunnel. I know I have probably given away 25 of them. No, sorry I have no more and don't go to CoM anymore. Pretty much just stay in EC and run back to the tunnel for buffs solo till like 10 and then start grouping the rest of the way. Even in Unrest hard to solo without good gear. So damn many Social mobs there and trains.

Like Swish said you pretty much sit on your butt the whole game as a Cleric. And get very little loot. Its a great class but not for everyone.

I just picked up a Sharkbone Warhammer for 100P pretty pleased with it. 8/28 with +5 Wis. Although my early success at going toe to toe with mobs is starting to dwindle.

Hide will still be useful after the patch, with IVU up you can still cover both, right?...and DE clerics look twice as awesome in plate compared to any other race [You must be logged in to view images. Log in or Register.]
