By the way I'm not even making the case we should be gutting our economy to fix the climate. But maybe we shouldn't be shitting on renewables. The US literally doesn't know how to make batteries as well as China, it's pathetic

but the thing is it has nearly zero chance to replace fossil fuels, we need those sources on top of our already existing energy infrastructure. our need for energy increases faster than our means to produce it. wind solar etc don't have a chance to replace coal, gas, nuclear because these sources don't scale up fast and are weather dependent. Nuclear is by a wide margain the greenest source of energy we have ever invented, but everyone is afraid of it because they are uneducated and scared of their own shadow.

It's pollution in the air from the millions of democrats fleeing california to come live in my state sitting on top of us in the valley air, that's going to kill me with lung cancer long before the climate can do shit to me When your news updates on your computer are giving pollution warnings every other week, you might have a problem When your THC Doctor reminds you that just living here is the equivalent to smoking part of a pack of cigarettes per day, you might have a problem Reducing pollution is one thing that myself as a reasonable person who mostly cares about my life here and now due to not having dependents, will get behind

I believe America and many other nations and organizations have the technology required to return to the Moon and I hope to see it happen on television before I die, even if it's some insufferable billionaire's vanity project

Btw, anyone who is morbidly obese has no right to talk about climate change whatsoever. The effect of consuming disproportionately larger biomass with it's necessary logistics in transporting the food, storing the food within temperature controls, and growing the food is exponentially increasing of ones carbon footprint. Being fat has a direct correlation to ones carbon footprint, so if you're fat, you have no right to talk about global warming.

Yea we didn't forget how to go to the moon lol, the US lost interest and stomach for the funding. Later moon landings didn't even make primetime national television.
