No, those failed* (citations needed) socialist states were largely strangled by American or British imperialism, or they failed due to mismanagement because socialists are also human beings.

The state's efforts against socialist and communist states in the past century or so demonstrate that it's the economic system that represents the greatest threat to the rich you claim to oppose, buddy.

It doesn't matter which flavor you adopt, really, there's a crapload of them.
